Relocating their main residence from Canada to a high-rise in the Museum District of Houston, these clients brought little with them. A three month deadline had to be met by Margie Slovack and her team for remodeling, all furnishings, draperies, and art. New countertops as well as paint and wall treatments set the background for this sophisticated home. Multiple seating groups were created to meet the clients’ entertaining requirements. Margie drew the color palette of warm taupe and creams with punches of rose from the rugs and art pieces initially chosen. The architectural problem of a structural column in the middle of the living room was solved by mirroring all sides to reflect the city views. This high-rise was awarded first place in the 2005 ASID awards. This was the beginning of a wonderful relationship between these clients and Margie, as they have completed 5 projects together and are currently working on another.
